ares old versionWhy is my ares version changing from the old version to ares vista?
i dont understand this-i downloaded the older version of ares.however for some reason when i switch off my laptop the next time i switch on that ares automatically changes to ares vista and start asking me ares old versionfor credit card details etc.i've done it about 4 times now just to make sure that i'm not the one making a mistake.can someone help please.all i want is the free ares version.thanks for your help.

I just got internet on my 3ds about a week ago. When I try to view any video AT ALL, or ANY game AT all, the top screen will say: To view this video (or game) you must have an adobe flash player. So I tried to download adobe but you know those two data boxes you have to fill out in order to download adobe? I don't know what to choose for my 3ds. As long as you have an unlimited data plan with your cell phone provider, you can download as many programs for your phone as you would like without an added cost to you as long as the programs / games are freegames free. Some games you have to pay for and some are completely free. If you have a Blackberry Cell Phone, I would check out Blackberry App World (link below), or if you have an Iphone I would check out the App Store (link below). They are both great resources for finding games to either your Iphone or Blackberry Cell Phone and they also have a good number of free gagames freemes on there.

I installed adobe flash player 10 and nothing happens. I am using windows vista IE and it says that it was installed but all I get is that it hasn't when I try to open a video from any site. It's so common these days for videos to be embedded in Web pages all over the Internet. Now, many a times, you probably see some cool videos and I'm guessing that you wish you could download them onto your computer, but (sigh!) the content providers do not give the users any option to do so.
And along with that, even if you are able to download the videos, you won’t be able to play them with your Windows Media Player or Real Player, because the smart content providers usually encode their videos in special formats that do not allow playback on mainstream media players. Well, after today, you won't have to worry about any of those things. I'm going to show you all how to beat the content providers at their own game. You will learn how to download videos and convert them to a format that will be playable on your favorite media player. If that sounds good, come along with me!
First, for this, you need to use the Firefox browser. And, as I always keep telling you, it’s an awesome browser and not just for the purpose of this tutorial!
Secondly, you'll need to install a Firefox extension that will let you download videos from different video Web sites. The extension is called Video Downloader and once you install it, just restart Firefox and it’ll be ready to go.
To install the Video Downloader, just click on this
and click the Install Now button.
Once you've got that done, you'll want to test it out by dfree youtube download managerownloading a video. For my example, I'm going to use one from YouTube. So, after we eventually download our YouTube video, we'll want to convert it to a format in which our media player will play. So, for that purpose, we are going to use a conversion software. My choice here would be Media Coder. It’s a relatively popular video converter and it works flawlessly. You can read more about it, download and install it right here.
Now, let’s go to the YouTube video that you want to download. Once you restart Firefox and after installing the extension, you will see a little icon in the status bar at the bottom of your desktop screen.
Click on that icon and a new window will pop up. From there, you will see a button that says "Download Link." Click on that and you will be prompted to save the file. Now, remember, the file you are downloading won’t have a name or an extension, so make sure to fill in a name and use .flv as the extension type, while you are downloading the file. .FLV is the default video extension used by most video sites. You can also rename the file after you have downloaded it, so just remember the folder where you have placed it.
Now that we have the file, all that's left for us to do is convert it to a video format that we can play in Windows Media Player or Winamp. So, go ahead and fire up the Media Coder. Click on the I Agree button for the licence agreement and then click on the Skip Setup Wizard button.
Drag and drop the .flv files that you downloaded from YouTube (or other sites) onto the Media Coder window. Click on the Video tab in the lower left hand section and select X-vid in the format drop down menu.
The last step is to click on the Start button on the top toolbar window to begin the encoding procefree youtube download managerss. The time taken to encode your video is proportional to the size of the video file you have downloaded. When the encoding is completed, you will be prompted by a pop up window. Go to the location of your downloaded file and you will see a new .AVI file waiting for you. You can now play this file in your favorite media player, as long as it supports the .AVI format.
Now, this might seem like a long process, but after you use it a couple of times, it will run as smooth as butter on hot toast! There's no need to keep track of the links to your favorite YouTube videos now. You can simply download them to your computer. Is that cool or what?! Go ahead and give this is a spin, but do remember, you should not download, copy or distribute videos that are copyrighted by somebody else. Happy video watching, everyone!

avg anti virus free editionHow do I remove AVG Free Edition Anti
The program will not run. Each time I start my PC a window pops up with this message "Could not initialize AVG Anti-Virus Kernel Interface. Application cannot run".
When I try to uninstall the program I get this message: "Installation failure. Error: Initialization of the language file "C\Program Files\Grisoft\Avg Free" failed. General failure". As a result of the installation not being completed I cannot uninstall it but neither can I try to reinstall it, or another anti-virus program. Also, I am not regsitered with AVG to post a help topic on its site.
AVG refuses to help because it is the free edition. I've been told my only option is to install a new hard disk and transfer all my programs to it and use a real anti-virus program.
Is there a practical solution to my dilemma?
Ok. Sorry to hear of your problem but i think i have a solution.
Go to and get the latest version of AVG downloaded.
When going through the install process set it to 'Repair' install and it if AVG works then you can either leave it or un-install it. Good Luck!
I want to thank each and everyone of you for your advice; however, I tried each suggestion and not one of them worked. My only solution now is to have a new hard disk installed and transfer only the data I need for my existing computer to the new hard disk. And, also, to stay away from AVG products.

When the uninstall didn't work correctly, you were left with a registry entry that has the permissions set wrong. You need to correct this so you can continue.
Run REGEDT32 and navigate to the following key...

Right click on the key name in the left window, savg anti virus free editionelect Permissions from the options. Give your username and the Administrators full permissions and apply, when it asks if you want to apply the same permissions for subkeys.. say yes.

When I try to uninstall the program I get this message: "Installation failure. Error: Initialization of the language file "C\Program Files\Grisoft\Avg Free" failed. General failure". As a result of the installation not being completed I cannot uninstall it but neither can I try to reinstall it, or another anti-virus program. Also, I am not regsitered with AVG to post a help topic on its site.
AVG refuses to help because it is the free edition. I've been told my only option is to install a new hard disk and transfer all my programs to it and use a real anti-virus program.

Go to and get the latest version of AVG downloaded.
When going through the install process set it to 'Repair' install and it if AVG works then you can either leave it or un-install it. Good Luck!

My only solution now is to have a new hard disk installed and transfer only the data I need for my existing computer to the new hard disk. And, also, to stay away from AVG products.

well, first of all me and my friends have been making a TON of movies on iMovie and all have been published, now i recentley experienced a problem with my mac, i was dragging a clip into the editing board for a project and the entire iMovie page wen't greyish it's hard to explain, it was like the gray and white and black stripes you see on a t.v without any signal, but it seemed as though everytime i moved my mouse around the page something almost beige ( what i believe was our video) started coming up behind it and more was being built and built.

There is no easy answer to this as it entirely depends on what you use your computer for and what software you use. The easiest thing to do is leave them there but that uses disk space so you could remove the ones you don't use and just keep the others.

I am a firefighter and have used a program called "Youtube Downloader" to download video from Youtube that I find useful in training exercises. The program only downloads from Youtube though and I would like to find a program that can download video from most any site. I currently have windows Vista (Beta) but I cant download any videos for some reason. I checked The vixy FAQ and it told mevixy that it Was my firewall, so my question is : How do I turn off my firewall just for that Program?

dell ethernet driversI reinstalled xp pro on my dell laptop, no ethernet drivers found. How do i fix this?

I am getting a playstation 3 for christmas and read PS3 can play divx files. Can the PS3 find shared network video files off my desktop computer on the same network and play the video off of that? or do i have to copy them to an external hard drive and connect that in order to play the videos I download?

I now have a PS3 and find the answer by mikan to be correct. you CAN pull music, video,network video and pictures off an external HD. They need to be in the MUSIC, VIDEO, and PICTURE folders on the root directory. I can watch my DIVX movies, listen to my mp3s, and view my photos with no problem! its awesome!
i believe you can do both ways. using a program such as windows media player you can setup your library and set it as share, then your psnetwork video3 can browse through them. as for putting it on an external HDD, just make sure you have the correct folders, example it must be named, MUSIC, VIDEO, PICTURE.
you have to put it on a dvd or a memory stick duo, and it has to be in the right format like .mp4, or if its a dvd a .vob
It can if you burn the videos to a DVD then play them in your PS3
